This hostel's attention to detail and labyrinth layout mirrored that of the town as a whole. Every inch was painted with bright multi-colored murals or covered in meticulously crafted ceramic works featuring suns and frogs and sayings and poems and the like. Decorative tiles covered the floors and bright blue Correlejos tequila bottles were cemented into the walls of the terrace so that when the sun was shining it was shining blue onto the outdoor countertops and tables.
It was perched 165 steps high up on a hill. Every night we returned from the town recently stuffed full of cerveza and tequila and al pastor tacos and we climbed the stairs to finally reach the top completely out of breath (GTO is at an elevation ~7000 ft).
